DARK3D WARDRIVING HARDWARE HORNET

Most scanning happens through a keyhole: one radio, one channel at a time. The swarm holds six at once on a wired bus, so nothing stops listening in order to talk. The handheld fixes where it was standing to under a meter. Both pocketable, neither conspicuous.

HORNET HANDHELD

HANDHELD

Most wardrivers stop here. We kept going.

THEIRSHORNET
A quarter of the skyL1 plus L5 across every constellation
Hunting for GPS before you startYou hit the streets running
Will not scan without an SD cardBuffers on the board
Buy an ESP32 to have a working unitSoldered down, ready out of the box
A screen you squint at2 inch IPS
Whatever radio someone else pickedExpansion ports for whatever comes
Gives out before you doUp to 11 hours
A charging cable and nothing elseQi wireless charging support
Forgets when you set it downRemembers every mile and every network

A dropped link costs a reconnect, not a capture. We keep the miles you logged and the networks you scanned for the life of the board. We never forget.

HORNET SWARM

SWARM

Six radios riding in a backpack is chaos. We built a fleet instead.

THEIRSHORNET
Buy every node yourselfEvery node on the board, ready out of the box
Wires everywhereZero rats nest
No one in chargeA gateway that runs the fleet
Everyone talking over each otherNodes do one job. Listen, and stream to the gateway without missing a beat
Plug into every node like it is a fun part of your dayThe gateway pushes firmware to every worker
Nothing protecting your capturesCapture integrity from RF to SD
An octopus of cables to power itOne supply, budgeted for every node
Six nodes and a hard ceiling12, 18, 24 nodes. Add swarms

Building a cluster like this is a project most people abandon. The few who finish end up fighting a tangle every time they take it out, so it lives on a shelf instead of in the car. Everything above, we have solved for you.

OUTLINE
70.0 x 120.0 mm (2.756 x 4.724 in)
NODES
6 scanning, 1 gateway
REPORTING
wired bus, never over the air
ANTENNAS
one connector per node
SCREEN
none. Run it from the handheld, maybe a phone app later
POWER

STILL OPEN

AND YOU CAN HELP CRAFT THE ULTIMATE WARDRIVER

The handheld runs the cluster, and it keeps the numbers where you can see them: satellites and lock, battery, what this session has picked up on 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and Bluetooth, and the totals.

Past that, the control surface is still open. A phone app and a browser page are both on the table, and captures are meant to leave for WiGLE and WDGWars on their own rather than wait on you to file them. Which of these gets built first is a question that gets answered in Discord.

HANDHELD FABRICATED, SWARM IN PRODUCTION

TELL US WHICH ONE YOU WANT

(We know you'll probably want both!)

The handheld is back from the fab with its parts ordered, and the swarm is on the line now. Run sizes and prices go to the list first, and so does the date there is something to buy.
